NOTE: Wisdom learned, observations made, experience through hard lessons in life should not be frivolously discarded. They should instead be revisited from time to time, to compare with current happenings, and in doing so, hardships previously endured may be averted today. The random quotes that follow are reflections from a wide range of personalities, some well known, others more obscure, they are worth repeating here, and I believe, worthy of your consideration. The common thread that links them, they were all great Americans and Patriots.

Mark Shean, author of GUN SENSE, on Amazon.

1. RONALD REAGAN: “When you cant make them see the light, make them feel the heat”.

2. ABRAHAM LINCOLN: “Don’t interfere with anything in the Constitution. That must be maintained, for it is the only safeguard of our liberties”.

3. GEORGE WASHINGTON: “It will be an unjust and unwise jealousy to deprive a man of his natural liberty upon the supposition he may abuse it”.

4. THOMAS JEFFERSON: “I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them”.

5. THOMAS PAINE:Arms discourage and keep the plunderer in awe, they preserve order in the world as well as property…..horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding be deprived of the use of them”.

6. SAMUEL ADAMS:How strangely will the tools of a tyrant pervert the plain meaning of words!”

7. THEODORE ROOSEVELT: “Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people”.

8. ANDREW JACKSON: “It is to be regretted that the rich and powerful too often bend the acts of government to their own selfish purposes”.

9. NOAH WEBSTER: Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword, because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States”.

10. PATRICK HENRY: “Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are ruined”.

11. ABRAHAM LINCOLN: “Important principles may, and must, be inflexible”.

12. RONALD REAGAN: “Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them”.

13. GEORGE WASHINGTON: “Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism”.

14. THOMAS JEFFERSON:Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny”.

15. THOMAS PAINE: “That government is best which governs least”.

16. SAMUEL ADAMS: “The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil Constitution, are worth defending against all hazards; and it is our duty to defend them against all attacks”.

17. THOMAS JEFFERSON:To compel a man to furnish funds for the propagation of ideas he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical”. (Think Planned Parenthood!)……..!

18. DANIEL WEBSTER: “Let it be borne on the flag under which we rally in every exigency, that we have one country, one Constitution, one destiny”..
