The above is not even remotely true I waited 10 months just to get mine denied. Then I appealed the decision and lost that too. One of there articles states if they haven’t denied you within 40 days they aren’t going to and that’s not true. The law is they must approve or deny you within 40 days but good luck fighting that after 40 days

  • Mark Shean says:

No, It is true, there must be more to this story than you’re letting on.

  • chris says:

I wanted to say that it took me 8 days from my interview until I got my LTC approved. I went on the 27th of November and it was issued on December 5th. I got it in the mail a few days later. Not to bad. Real quick.

  • Mark Shean says:

    That’s amazing, what town?

  • chris says:

    West Springfield

  • Mark Shean says:

Its strange, I suppose all the towns could do the same quick turnaround if they wanted, but would rather screw with good people instead……..

  • Jean says:

Hey mark…I’ve been waiting for about 6 months in a response now! I called the police station last week and they told me it’s still on it’s first stage I don’t understand because my application was on hold for a week because the chief wanted me to bring in a letter for employment because I put down future employment but when I was told it was on hold I personaly went to the station told the clerk that my situation changes that I want her to change the future employment to all lawful purposes so she did! Then I received a call a month after that from the same clerk stating that the chief viewed my application and they he needs an employment letter I told the clerk that I came in on this specific date and told you that I wanted her to change the Future employment to all lawful proposed and she said oh yes that’s right ok I’ll send it up but now they are giving me the run around what should I do?

  • Mark Shean says:

    tell them what’s going on.

  • I relish, lead to I found exactly what I was taking a look for.
You have ended my four day lengthy hunt! God Bless you man. Have a great day.
    Bye

  • Jean says:

Hey mark yes I spoke to someone from Chelsea ma! Didn’t give me alot of info but that Springfield is behind and takes their time and there is no cut off date for a denial that they can deny you whenever they want!

  • Sal says:

The law doesn’t require you to be employed to own a gun. God these MA a_holes are out of control.

  • Mark Shean says:

You are correct on both counts.

  • Jean says:

Hey mark! It’s been almost 8 months since I put in my ltc application I have been in and out the police station requesting information but they always give me the run aroun! I even asked to speak with the chief but they always tell me he’s out in the field and he will give me a call when he is available. What else should I do?

  • Mark Shean says:

Call The Firearms Record Bureau in Chelsea Ma. and ask them whats going on with your license application.

  • Jean says:

Hey mark yes I did give them a call last week and explained to them what’s going on all that was said is to go back down to the police station and keep requesting any feedback from the police station on the application and the clerk that works at the station is very ride and disrespectful every time I go down there she gives me attitude.
