Details of the Recommendation: "Mark is a leading expert in firearms instruction and dealing with the bureaucratic hoops you need to jump through in the state of Massachusetts to obtain an LTC. He is very knowledgeable, very personable, and extremely helpful.

I would recommend his service to anyone who is looking to obtain an LTC in Massachusetts."

Thank you so much for your service to the people of the U.S. who want to purchase and posess firearms and use their 2nd Ammendment rights!

Yes I took a NRA certified basic postol course along with the Mass State Police approved course. Along with that my instructor gave me the mass reg and laws which pertain to firearms.

Well I am glad to hear that in your opinion that I should not have a problem obtaining a LTC-A ALP, that makes me feel more confident in my decision.

As far as how I found you, a friend of mine is an avid gun enthusiast, I had asked him the question and he pointed me to your website 'Gun Sense' and told me to contact you and maybe you would be able to help me.

Once again, thank you so much, and please keep up the good fight!

Merry Christmas, and happy holidays!

I did have some members of the police department that I used as references. They also required 5 letters of recommendation and a reason other then "All lawful purpose".

I have passed your site to several friends. Your information is to the point and very well written. I confess I am green at all of this so the more info the better. I know there will be some of us interested in your course on UTAH CCW.

I appreciate the work you are doing and the articles help someone like me that is just starting out.
Please Keep writing.

Just wanted to let you know I filed my Class 'A' request today. As you may remember this was my second attempt, the first was before I took your class. I took your advice and this time when he said no to "all lawful purposes" applications I told him to deny me in writing. He took the application and fee. They processed me and I should hear in 6 weeks. They said that since I had an old FID ( @1975) I was "in the system" as having a Class B license(???) it would work in my favor.
Thanks for your support and guidance. Glad to have the ball rolling win or lose. Keep up the good work!
Hi Mark,
After about 11 wks of waiting I got my Class A license today! Feels great.
Tx for your guidance and support in the process. Nancy submitted her application yesterday, I was worried that she might get hers before me. Thanks again! Gene McGrory

I just took the NRA basic course from another place,(sorry) and am waiting for my MA LTC. While I am waiting I want to become more knowledgable about firearms and protecting my home. I have a wife that is VERY nervous about guns and a 4 month old boy. I want to be as smart and safe as possible. I also am very eager to shoot for fun at the range. After reading your 'Gun Sense' series i realized that the 'big name' gun school I took my class at doe's not hold a candle to the information you put out, I wish I had taken your class, keep up the great work, I will be a regular reader to your website!

Matt, Springfield

Thank you Mark
Tim, Plymouth, MA.

I took my class with Paul Malley, of Carver, a little over a week ago with my son. I had heard that Braintree was not to keen on LTC but they have recently changed police chiefs. I do have a couple of friends on the force that will also help, if need be. I will keep you informed of the out come.

I have printed copies of your articles and continue to read them. I find they are a wealth of knowledge to people that are new to gun ownership. As far as safety and laws it is necessary to remember just how awesome a responsibility you have once you have a gun in your possession.

Thank you again for your dedication. Please continue to update and add to your web page. I have passed on you site address to others and I am confident they will also pass it along to others.

I have been meaning to contact you and thank you for your help but I wanted to wait until I had good news....yesterday I picked up my class A license at the Wareham PD; a full five months after my interview, and almost seven months after I applied. The interview went well and in fact....went down just as you suggested it would. I was told that they would "probably start me off with just an FID...". I politely said, "no...not interested; if you want to reject my application do so in writing and I will appeal." I was then told that "We're winning all the appeals...". I replied, " won't win this one. I am a picture of stability. I've been in the same job for forty years, the same address for 30 years, I pay all my taxes & bills, I owe nobody anything, I've never been in trouble or arrested, and I'm not going to be the only one in this town without a gun. If I don't qualify...then nobody here does and you'll have to defend virtually every permit you have given out to justify excluding me"

The officer then said "well we didn't give you a license to drive without a permit....why would we give you a permit to carry a handgun when you have no experience?" I said "well, I don't have a right to drive, but I do have a constitutional right to have a weapon....and since you brought it up, I've had a driver's license for 43 years, driven over one million miles, and not had an accident."

At the end I said "look...I don't own any property that I can't just replace. I don't own anything that's worth hurting anyone or getting in trouble over...but I do have a wife and two daughters in a neighborhood that is becoming increasingly dangerous, and the police alone cannot guarantee their safety." His response...."perfect".

So again....thanks a lot for your help, particularly with preparing me for that interview.

Years ago, I was told much the same on the Hawken, but knowing the more
rigorous anti-gun laws on the books now, I thought even it might be
regulated. I really appreciate your time in answering my question(s). I
have bookmarked your web site for future reference as there is a great
deal of information therein. I found it via a Google search on Primitive
Firearms Mass Laws and looked at several sites. Only yours was pertinent.

As I'm retired now and moving to a more firearm friendly state
(Florida), once settled I planned on getting a license and rifle there
to do some target shooting. When I was a Boy Scout they had a rifle
range at camp and I enjoyed target shooting, receiving a Marksman award
at about 10 years old. I had looked into getting a valid license within
Mass a few years ago and went to the Police station. After a policeman
told me of all the paperwork, rules & regulations, and annual costs to
maintain a license within Chelmsford, I walked away and decided to
address a license after retirement and moving out of Mass.

Thanks for all your help and wish you the best in trying to deal with
even more anti-gun laws in MASS. Imagine if today's politicians ran the
state in the years up to the Revolution. We'd still be under English rule!

I am About to apply for LTC 'A' with no restrictions-- I live in Springfield, MA where basically things look grim.
After reading through your articles and posts in northeast shooters I can say I have a lot more options and a better game plan of what I am going to do when it comes time to apply.
Just wanted to thank you for taking your time to write this 'GUN SENSE' guide down-- I am sure you are touching countless lives-- and probably helping to save or protect a good amount of them as well.

Wish I had read all this earlier, I would have loved to have taken my class with you instead!

God bless you for being such a considerate and giving citizen.

Manuel Avellan, Springfield

The word from my kids as to the content of your course was nothing less than great. While both my kids have had some firearm experience through me, (along with daily doses of how our elected leftists are systematicly destroying our freedoms) your instructions have helped make them more aware of the laws (and abuses) that confront the law abiding citizen.

I have already forwarded your web address to others in hopes of speading your commitment.

Thank you again for what you are doing.

Hi Mark,
I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for the thorough and professional training you provided for the Firearms Safety Certification Course last week.
I appreciated the seriousness and depth of your presentation and ability to get the vital points across.
I've spoken to some of the other attendees and they feel the same way.

I'll be sending in the applications soon and look forward to obtaining my LTC in the future.
Please feel free to use me as reference for any potential customers. They will benefit greatly from your course.
Call me any time,

It is not about guns folks, its about FREEDOM!  ‘Gun Control’  is all about taking our freedoms away, with heavy emphasis on control over us. The following are two notable quotes from an enemy, the architect of the attack on Pearl Harbor, Commander in Chief of the Japanese Imperial Naval Forces in WWll, Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto; Taken from his diary,{“I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve”}, and {“I would never invade the United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass”}    NOTE: Prior to WW II he went to college in the U.S., he understood Americans love of freedom, so he knew better than to invade.  Our politicians today do not seem to understand what Yamamoto did about Americans!  Their continuing attacks on our Second Amendment make me very sure of that.  Molon Labe!
